On Saturday Jan 17th, near Haj terminal, opposite to Shamshabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, the Bike and Car race was inaugurated and started with the huge participation of youngsters and Racers.
Near International Airport at Hyderabad, the CEO of GMR group, Mr.Satish Nair has inaugurated the race of Bikes and Cars. On the first the qualifying round will be held and the participants of Bikes and Cars will have to clear this round to continue in the Race. The participants of the Race who cleared the Qualifying Round will have the SemiFinals and the Final rounds on Sunday.
To participate in the Race, the Bikers have to pay a entry fees of Rs.600 and for the Car race participants it is Rs.1000. The winners of the Race will be presented with a Cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh in sepearte categories of Bikes and Cars.

Kite Festival at Necklace road
For three days, there is a Kite Festival is celebrated at the People’s Plaza, Necklace road. On the eve of Sankranthi Festival, every year Kite Festival is celebrated at the Necklace road located on the banks of the Hussain Sagar lake. Every year, the admirers of Kites from all over the world come here to participate in this Kite festival and the local citizens of Hyderabad take the pleasure of flying the kites along with these admirers with their variety designs of Kites.
In this year of 2009, A Voluntary Organization working for the Hearing impaired Children “ASHRAY-AKRUTI” is organizing the KITE Festival in order to support the hearing impaired children. The Inaugural ceremony of Kite Festival will start at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. This Kite Festival is long for three days and ends on the 15th of January at 10:00 pm. The Fans and admirers of Kites will participate in this event to make the Celebration even more brightful.

Khairatabad Ganesha and instructions to visit
In view of security and traffic constraints, the Devotee to visit Lord Ganesha idol placed at Khairatabad on eve of Vinayaka Chathurdi Navaratri. These instructions are passed by the Inspector and Sub Inspector of Saifabad Police Station.
1) Only on an unavoidable necessity the devotees should not bring any Bags, Packets or any belongings with them.
2) Vehicles are not allowed near to the premises of the idol.
3) Vehicles approaching from Mint Compound road should park their vehicles in the premises of Mint Compound itself.
4) Vehicles coming through the Necklace road or Khairatabad need to park their vehicles in the Necklace road or IMAX parking area.
5) Vehicles from Punjagutta need to park their vehicles near ICICI bank or at Shadan College parking area.
6) Vehicles from Dwaraka, Rajdooth hotel should park their vehicles in the premises of Old CIB quarters.
7) Vehicles from Lakdi-Ka-Pool or Ayodhya circle should park in the Chintal Basthi area.
8) Due to parking conjunction, it is local devotees in Khairatabad area are adviced not to bring any vehicles with them.
9) All the devotees are requested to cooperate with the Police official to scrutinize them thoroughly and their belongings to ensure their own security and safety.
10) Parking allotment permission or Paid parking is not provided to anyone and also if anyone asks money as part of a Parking charges, please do inform the Police about this.

Volunteers rescue snakes them from snake charmers
Volunteers rescue snakes them from snake charmers on the occasion of Nagapanchami
Volunteers from Bharatiya Prani Mitra Sangh, Blue Cross, Sahayog Organisation, Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Society, Prani Mitra Ramesh Jagirdar Memorial Society, Abhay Go Sewa Sansthan and Friends of Snakes are the associations working together to protect Animal in Twin cities. They have rescued nearly 50 snakes of various types from snake charmers in Twin cities.
Recently these all organisations have conducted a attacks in Twin cities, the volunteers have divided themselves in various teams and spread out to various parts of the city to save Animals, Snakes and Birds from people who sell them or provide them on a Rent basis for Rs.500.
On a name of sacred worships and entertaining the people, few snake charmers as a part of their livelihood, they make a business or earn money by playing the Monkeys, Snakes and also parrots in streets and also harass them by stitching their mouth, enclosing in cage and feed them irregularly.
Joshi representing People for Animal and Mahesh representing Sahyog Organisation informed that - if anyone sees any activity of harassing these Animals as a Business they can inform these Animal Activists through a phone numbers - 9849993374, 040-27537540.
The rescued animals which were freed from torture, after their recovery, would be segregated based on their types and then the Forest Department personnel would set them free in their natural habitat.
